My Second Year At University

My Second Year At University

Yesterday, I handed in my final assignments for my 2nd year of studying sociology at university, and so the year is officially done! It seems to have gone by so fast since the start of the year. Last year, I wrote a blog post all about my first year at university, so this year (as well as next) I wanted to do the same, so that I will have these posts to look back on as a snapshot of my university experience.

Moving Out

This year was a big year for me in terms of moving out. In my first year of study, I was a commuting student, but in 2nd year I decided to move out and live nearer to university. At the start of the year, I was slightly apprehensive about this because I had never moved out of my family home before. What I now know is that the experience was really good for me. I gained a lot of independence, learnt to cook some more meals and started to organise my days a little better. I also lived with some lovely people and I’m really glad I decided to live out in my 2nd year.

The Course

This year, I enjoyed the topics of study more than first year. I had more choice over the modules I studied, and they were topics that I was a lot more interested in. The workload this year was an increase from last year, and so that was definitely something to adjust to. But, having said that, I felt like I managed better this year at balancing this than I had last year, which I was happy about.

Onto third year…

Next year, I will be moving back home and going back to being a commuting student. This is just something that suits me better and I am looking forward to commuting again. Next year, I definitely want to vlog more of the commuting experience. It was something I’d planned to do first year but didn’t quite get around to. So, in 3rd year, I definitely want to share more of the commuting experience with you. Also, in 3rd year, I really want to make the most of university by joining clubs and getting more involved with the social aspect. Because it will be my last year at university, I want to make the most of what the experience has to offer. I am really looking forward to my 3rd year at university, and cannot wait to share a lot more of the experience over here on my blog and over on my YouTube channel.

So, second year of uni done! It seems to have flown by. I’m really looking forward to 3rd year and to seeing what I will be talking about when I write the same post this time next year.
