Bonfire Night 2018

Bonfire Night is one of my favourite nights of the year. For me, it is second to Christmas (because not sure anything can beat my love for Christmas), but is still definitely one of my all-time favourite days of the year. This year, the Saturday before the 5thNovember, we held a Bonfire Night at our house for lots of my family. I had a really lovely night and managed to take a few pictures along the way. I took some on my phone and some on my camera, and so this post is a mix of the two.

We built our own bonfire for Bonfire Night this year, bought some fireworks and sparklers and decorated the old stable outside with hay on the floor, blankets and fairy lights all around for the night. I loved helping put everything together and seeing it all come to life. We also had loads of jam jars filled with candle tea-lights all over the garden which made for a really lovely look in the evening.

It was so nice to spend time with my family – I have quite a big extended family and so when we can all get together I really love to see everyone. We ate some really lovely food (some soup, pie and peas, cakes and cheese), caught up with each other and listened to lots of good music. If you haven’t seen my blog post about my Bonfire Night Playlist, then I will leave it here. I had such a lovely night and was so happy to spend it with my family.

I honestly love everything about Bonfire Night, whether it be the fireworks, being wrapped up outside, eating good food, sparklers or the Bonfire itself. I think it is a really lovely event every year and is for sure one of my favourite days.

I would love to know in the comments, how have you spent your Bonfire Night this year?
