Music Monthly Favourites | July 2018

Music Monthly Favourites | July 2018

For some reason this month I have found so many new songs. I think it’s probably because it’s summer and so I have had a lot more spare time to listen to and find music. If you have read any other of my music monthly favourites, you will know there is often a mix of new releases and music that is new to me that happens to be older, and that is no different this month. So, here are my music monthly favourites for July 2018. As a bit of a music side-note, I am going to try play my guitar a bit more and have been towards the end of July. I really enjoy it and would like to get back into it. Anyway, on with the favourites.

• Your Love Gets Sweeter – Finley Quaye •

I love this song so much. I can’t think in particular where I came across this song this month, but I haven’t stopped listening to it since I did. It is such an upbeat song and one that is great to have on a travel playlist – especially if like me you are a nervous flyer (it is such a happy song)!

• Drake •

It’s no secret to anyone how good Drake’s new album is. A few of my favourite songs are ‘Nice For What’ – it is such a happy song that I could listen to it all day – and ‘In My Feelings’ – I feel like everyone is listening to that song and I can see why, it is so good!

• Breathless – Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds •

My Dad, like myself, is a fan of the TV programme ‘Peaky Blinders’ and was recently rewatching some of the older episodes. This song came on in the background and he told me to give it a listen – it is so good! If you are a fan of ‘Peaky Blinders’ too, you will know the music is amazing, and this song is no exception.

• Common Man – Caamp •

A few months ago, I was listening to this song all the time and this month I have refound my love for it. Caamp’s music is always great and this song is so upbeat and definitely puts me in a good mood.

• Ariana Grande •

Ariana came out with new music this month that I have been loving. ‘God Is A Woman’ is the perfect song to have on a gym playlist so I have been loving listening to that. Having heard her new songs, I have been having a listen back to some of her older ones. ‘Moonlight’ and ‘Tattooed Heart’ in particular are some of my favourites. I watched a video of ‘Moonlight’ being performed live, and it was amazing!

• I Saw Her Standing There – The Beatles •

I have been listening to this song a lot towards the end of the month. I love when I find Beatles music that I haven’t heard before, and this song happened to be one of them. Like all Beatles music, it is such a catchy and easy song to listen to. I would 100% recommend listening to this if you haven’t already.

• Beyond – Leon Bridges •

This song came on when I was watching Love Island and I immediately googled what it was. I think I had heard the song itself before and I’m so glad I was reminded what it was. It’s a pretty chilled song, which makes it super easy to listen to.

• Three Lions – Baddiel, Skinner and Lightening Seeds •

If you are English and have watched the World Cup, you wouldn’t have been able to escape this song in July. I loved watching the football and seeing how far England got and how well the team did. This song has been so good to listen to, especially throughout the World Cup, because it was so uplifting, and everyone was singing it because they were happy and excited about England and how well they did.

• That’s Entertainment – The Jam •

Recently, I went to my cousin’s house who has the best taste in music. She has a playlist with over 1000 great songs on it, and this was one of them. Since I left her house I haven’t stopped listening to it and it reminded me how much I love this song. Another song that was on her playlist was ‘Ooh La – The Kooks’ and I have been loving that too.

So, they are all my music favourites for this month. Like always I have loved listening to new music this month, and would love to know in the comments; what music are you loving at the minute?
