My Night-Time Skincare Routine

It has taken me a while to find a skincare routine that suits me. I have somewhat problematic skin, having struggled with acne before. So, I have tried everything I could for my combination skin, and have found that stripping it back and sticking to a simple routine is what works best for me.

• Removing Make-up •

To remove my makeup, I use 'Garnier Micellar Water (Sensitive Skin)' with cotton wool pads. I never really like makeup-wipes, because I always feel as though I’ve never completely removed my makeup, but I also don’t especially like ‘wash-off’ removers because I find them quite an effort. So, 'Garnier Micellar Water' is a really good compromise, and I absolutely love this product because it offers a good cleanse whilst also being convenient and easy to use.

• Washing My Face •

To wash my face, I use 'Simple Moisturising Facial Wash'. I love this produce because it doesn’t feel harsh on my skin at all and it leaves my face looking fresher. It is a really nice consistency, and I find it to be kind to my skin as well as quite moisturising. This is definitely one of my favourite products for a double cleanse along with my Garnier Micellar Water.

• Extra Pamper •

Occasionally, if I am having a pamper evening, I will go the extra mile to treat my skin. I love using face masks at this point. I have tried loads of face masks over the years, and I particularly like the 'Nivea Daily Essentials 1 Minute Urban Detox Mask'. Even though I have my favourites, I will often try new face masks at this point in my routine, just for a treat (such as the 'Anatomicals Face Masks' I have tried from Urban Outfitters and am loving recently). In an extra pamper, I might use eye masks (that I have just found recently and love), as well as a toner after I have washed my face to make extra sure all my makeup is off before I use a mask.

• Moisturise •

I have always used the 'Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser', it is a real staple to my skincare. No matter what other aspects of my routine might have changed, this moisturiser always stays the same. I love the consistency of this product, it isn’t sticky at all, and just smooths into the skin leaving it soft without being a thick texture. If you have particularly dry skin, you might need a more intense moisturiser, but even when my skin had dry areas, this moisturiser is great for my combination skin. i believe you can get a version with SPF, so if this is not in your foundation or other products already this would be good to use also.

I am always trying new skincare, so this routine may change slightly, but as a whole I love that I have found a skincare routine that suits me. I have always loved skincare, and this routine is inexpensive and also really quick and easy to do at the end of a day.
