Vincent - Ellie Goulding
This is a song that my Mum showed me early in July and I instantly loved it. The lyrics in this song (written by Don McLean) are so poetic and it is such a beautiful song to listen to. I loved learning more about the origin of this song and how it is a portrayal of Vincent Van Gough’s life, and to learn more about the life of such an influential artist through a song was also another reason why I loved listening to this throughout July. Since my Mum showed me this song, I have had it on repeat - I just love Ellie Goulding’s vocals in it.Up All Night - One Direction
This is one of my all-time favourite One Direction songs and, with it being the bands 10th anniversary this month, I had to put this one in today’s blog post. This song is so nostalgic and happy, and I absolutely love listening to it - especially with friends! I watched the One Direction movie the night before the 10-year anniversary this month, and remembered how much I love the music from 1D - so this song had to be included in this month’s music monthly favourites.Stay With Me - Faces
This is a song that has been on my playlist for quite a while, but I recently rediscovered it. I think I originally heard it on a TV performance and I love the melody and the instrumentals - it is a really upbeat one to listen to and sing along with. Our House - Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
This favourite overlaps from last month, where I spoke about songs from my favourite programme ‘This Is Us’, and I’ve been listening to it so much throughout July too. I’ve been learning to play this song on the keyboard throughout the month, which I have really enjoyed and I just love the vibe and loveliness within this song.As always, I would love to know in the comments; what songs have you been loving this month?
