Music Monthly Favourites | May 2020

I am currently sitting in the garden feeling very grateful for the lovely weather we are having today, and thought it would be a nice chance to sit outside and write a blog post. Today’s post is another music monthly favourites. This month, I have been listening to a fair bit of music. We have had such a lovely few weeks of weather and so I have been sitting in the garden listening to music and making the most of the sunny days.

The Only Living Boy In New York - Simon and Garfunkel

I think, out of all of the songs I have listened to this month, this has to be the number 1. My Mum recommended that I watched the movie ‘The Only Living Boy In New York’ - which has this song in it - and since I did it is a song that myself and the whole family have been loving. My brother made me a video for me 21st birthday of my whole life so far full of pictures, videos and memories, and this was one of the songs he used. I love it so much and it has definitely been a favourite of mine in May.

That’s What’s Up - Lennon and Maisy

This is a song that I loved a few years ago and have refound my love for in May. I’m not entirely sure how or where I refound this song - I think it must have been on YouTube - but I’m so glad I did. It has a really happy vibe to it and is one that I love to listen to at any time of day.

He Got Game - Public Enemy & Stephen Stills

This month, one of my absolute favourite TV programmes to watch has been New Girl. It’s just so funny and always makes me laugh out loud. This was a song that was played at the end of an episode and my brother really liked, so has been playing it around the house. Having heard him listening to it, I added it straight to my playlists because it has such a good vibe.

Buckets of Rain - Bob Dylan

This is a song that I found at the end of May and have really enjoyed listening to. My Uncle is a singer and has been doing a few live sessions from his home recently. He did a session of Bob Dylan covers and Buckets of Rain was one that he sang. I hadn’t heard the song before, but since then have listened to it a lot and really enjoyed it. Bob Dylan is one of my favourite singer/songwriters, and so I always love finding songs from him that I haven’t heard before.

As always, let me know in the comments; what music have you been loving this month?
