Music Monthly Favourites | August 2019

Music Monthly Favourites | August 2019

As I am writing this, I am sitting in the passenger seat of the car heading to Wales. We are spending bank holiday weekend with some of my family and I am really looking forward to it! Because this is a 5 hour journey, I thought I would take a little bit of time out of it to write my Music Monthly Favourites for August because (as you may know if you read my blog) they are some of my fave posts to write.

River - Leon Bridges
Usually, I am able to pin-point exactly where I come across a new song, but for some reason I can't seem to figure out where I first heard this song in August. But, what I can say for sure is that I love it - I keep listening to it. It is very chilled but at the same time quite uplifting and it has for sure been one of my top songs this month.

The Beatles
I thought it best to group all the songs I was going to put as individual favourites under the artist - The Beatles. This month I went to go and see the film Yesterday with my friends and I couldn't have loved it more. It reignited my love for The Beatles and as soon as I got home from the cinema I listened to loads of their songs - both new discoveries and old favourites. Some of my faves to listen to have been; Roll Over Beetoven, We Can Work It Out, Blackbird, I've Just Seen A Face, Oh Darling... I mean I could list so many.

I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor
When moving my sister to Cheltenham this month, we had a 3 and 1/2 hour journey to ourselves, and listened to so much music. This song was one of my ultimate faves - such an empowering song! Following our journey listening to this song, I created a Sass playlist full of similar songs. I just love how positive and fun it is!

Dreams - The Cranberries
Another little obsession of mine this month has been Derry Girls - so good, so funny! This song is the pretty much the theme tune of the show and I love it! All of the music is amazing in the series, and this song is no different - I LOVE it.

We are 10 minutes away from my family's house, so I think I will leave my favourites there for today. Let me know in the comments: what songs have you been loving through August?
