My 18th Year

Yesterday was my 19th birthday and I had such a lovely day with my family. Whenever I have a birthday I always look back on my year and what I have achieved. So, here is the story of my 18th year…

• A Levels •

This is probably one of the main things I worked towards in my 18th year; my A Levels. I think any exams are difficult, and so the feeling of finishing them is such a relief. I was proud of my A Levels, and of all of my friends for getting into university. Results day was one of my favourite days, and I loved spending in with family and friends.

• Last day of School •

The last day of school was such a good day. Our teachers had made a real effort to say goodbye, with pictures of us hung around the school, and a big assembly planned. After school was finished, we had arranged to go to the pub with the whole of the year, and then onto a big field where we played sports games and listened to music. It was such a great day, and also one of my favourites.

• Gap Year •

Probably the biggest part of my 18thyear; having a gap year. For me, a gap year was pretty essential because I had no idea what direction I wanted to take in terms of work or further study. I am so glad I took this year, not only to relax and have a break from studying, but also to decide what I wanted to do next.

• Starting My Blog •

Blogging is something that I had always wanted to do. I loved the idea of being completely creative and writing about whatever you wanted. Starting my blog was one of my biggest achievements of the past year. I had worked at a café, so I could buy a laptop and a camera, and so it felt like a real sense of achievement when I had everything I needed to start. I absolutely love blogging and am so happy I decided to finally start my own blog.

• Holiday •
I went with my brother and sister to San Sebastian in Spain (blog post linked below), and it was the first time I had got on a plane in 4 years. I was really proud of that, and had such a lovely time away that I will never forget. San Sebastian is beautiful an I absolutely loved my time there.

So, that is pretty much a run-down of my past year. I have really enjoyed being 18, but am now looking forward to what my 19thyear has in store.
