Recently I went for a night away in Derbyshire, and whilst
packing I realised that it was quite difficult to know what to pack for just
one night. This is probably because I have always been an over packer, someone
who takes something with them ‘just in case’. So, this time around I decided
the best thing to do was pack lightly. I didn’t need to take a lot with me and
so I wrote out a short list of things I would need for just one night away and
thought I would share that with you today.

Clothes
- Cosy Pyjamas – probably the most important thing!
- An outfit for the next day – something comfy for travelling home (leggings and a jumper)
- Slippers and fluffy socks
- Garnier micellar water and cotton wool pads – to remove makeup
- Moisturiser – I use the light moisturiser from simple
- Concealer and mascara for a quick freshen up the next day
- Toothbrush and toothpaste (of course)
- Deodorant and perfume
- Phone and purse
- Lip-gloss
- Headphones – for the journey
- Camera – to take lots of pictures of where I am going
- Camera and phone charger
- A book - I'm currently reading Mirror Mirror by Cara Delevingne
That’s basically it! I just thought I’d put this quick post
up so that, if anything, I have somewhere to refer back to next time I go on a
short trip. I think it’s so easy to put lots of things you don’t need in your
bag, but if you just stick to a small list it’s so much better – especially
when you get home and have to just unpack it all again to put away.
Do you over pack like me? What do you like to take away with
you for a short break overnight?
